La rentrée de Katy Perry

[FR] Aujourd'hui sort en Europe le second opus de Katy Perry, une chanteuse Californienne qui surf sur une vague pop colorée et décalée. L'occasion de revenir sur une carrière fulgurante basée sur la singularité et l'originalité d'une artiste qui ne mâche pas ses mots !
Née en 1984 en Californie, Katy Perry trouve très tôt sa place dans une famille religieuse entre sa soeur ainée et son frère cadet. Elle grandit donc avec le gospel et chante dès son plus jeune âge à l'église. A l'adolescence, elle s'installe à Los Angeles où elle signera avec le label Red Hill Records ; un premier album de gospel chrétien sortira alors en 2001 ; Mais comme elle le revendique Katy Perry n'est pas "une chrétienne typique" ; le clip de son second single Hot n Cold en témoigne d'ailleurs en affichant une artiste déjanté et sans complexe ; sa touche personnelle : un zest de provocation, un soupçon d'humour, et des univers caricaturaux. Alors que peut on attendre de ce nouvel album ? Après 8 mois passés en studio, Katy est revenu sur le devant de la scène avec un premier single  California Gurls, qui propose une caricature sucrée des californiennes dans un clip qui s'inspire des contes d'Hansel & Gretel. Puis avec l'approche de la rentrée, elle propose son nouveau single Teenage Dream, plus calme et en profite pour sortir son album éponyme. La chanteuse assume dans ce nouvel album un style résolument pop mais ne veut en aucun cas oublier ses origines. Après plusieurs écoute, le second Album de Katy s'annonce prometteur, un travail honorable qui ne décevra surement pas son publique, même si le style reste résolument situé dans un secteur pop commercial : Un style moderne donc, des airs accrochant, des influences électroniques qui mettent mieux en valeur sa voix…
